Executive Summary
Mark Hamilton is currently Head of Business Development at BDO Ireland. Mr. Hamilton joined BDO in October 2009 and, prior to his current role, he worked in the BDO Corporate Finance & Recovery department for 8 years. Mr. Hamilton is commercially minded, client focused and passionate about new and existing clients success and development. He has a strong presence in the business community along with a proven track record in project management and business development.
Mr. Hamilton is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA); qualifying in 2012.
Services & Specialism
Mr. Hamilton is responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with BDO stakeholders across multiple sectors, with an emphasis on building long-term trusting relationships and providing a quality client experience. He has extensive sector experience in aviation finance, financial services, technology, leisure, tourism & hospitality, agri-food, sport, pharma and healthcare.
Mr. Hamilton has brought this experience into additional roles as Independent Director and Board Member of other entities and currently sits on the board of Nutriband Inc. as an Independent Non-Executive Director, while also forming part of the Corporate Governance, Audit and Remuneration committees on behalf of Nutriband Inc., its board and its shareholders.
Mr. Hamilton also works as a business, graduate and student mentor where he assists some of Ireland’s top young professionals as they embark on their own careers. He is a Technological University Dublin Alumni (“TU Dublin”) and lectures to TU Dublin students on a regular basis. Mr. Hamilton works with TU Dublin, Rugby Players Ireland, the Inner City Enterprise, Young Professionals Ireland and other institutions on mentoring initiatives on an ongoing basis.
Mr. Hamilton received a B.Sc. in Business & Management from the Dublin Institute of Technology (now TU Dublin) in 2008 and subsequently received First Class Honours in his postgraduate degree, for which he specialized in Accountancy in 2009. He was also recently appointed as the Ireland Rugby Club Team Manager and helped the team to success in the 2020 Dalriada Cup in his first season.
